Here are parts for a travel guitar Larry is making. The tuners will be inside the body with access from holes in the rear. At least that's the plan.

Install clear pickguard on G4V guitar

The clear pickguard material was purchased from Stewmac. It has an adhesive backing and is 5 mils thick. When installed, it is virtually invisible.
Here's how it goes on:

• First create a pattern for the pickguard and transfer the shape to the paper backed side of the clear pickguard material.
• Cut out the pickguard
• Position it on the guitar and secure it with a tape 'hinge' so it can be lifted and then laid flat without changing its position.
• Wet the target surface area with water and a little soap.
• Peel off the paper backing, lay the pickguard down and squeegee out the water.
• Carefully remove the tape. Any residual water will slowly be absorbed through the finish and then evaporate.

Frank's Guitars - The Early Years and Some in Progress

Having the meeting at Frank Riner's shop allowed us to see the history of Frank's guitar making - including his first guitar (first photo below).

Jessie's Guitar

Frank Riner is helping his step-daughter, Jessie, build her first guitar.

Frank says, "The guitar body is catalpa. with walnut binding. We used cherry kerfing, blue spruce bracing. The neck is a three piece, walnut in the center flanked by white oak. Rosewood for the fretboard and it will have a rosewood bridge as well. MOP for the main inlays along with a few abalone stars thrown in the mix. The wolf in the moon is ebony."
